DESIGNING DESTINATIONS

Places stay with people

For reasons that are rarely obvious. A feeling, a moment, a sense of being somewhere that couldn't exist anywhere else.

We shape stories into reality — aligning brand, design and experience to create places people connect with instinctively, return to repeatedly, and carry with them long after they've left.

Mr Wolf is a creative strategy and design agency for luxury hospitality that increases room rates, F&B spend, and brand equity.

WHY CALL US?

We solve the problem most properties can't see

Most high-end hospitality underperforms for one reason: lack of alignment. The brand signals one thing, the design delivers another, and the experience fails to connect the two. The result is a property that looks the part but cannot fully justify its rates or sustain long-term demand.

Mr Wolf resolves this at the source — aligning brand, design and experience into one coherent system, so every element works together to strengthen perception, increase pricing power, and build lasting value.

WHO ARE WE?

Mr Wolf brings together Dan Conchie, a commercial interior designer and former nightclub owner, and Barry Darnell, founder of Madebyanalogue — a brand studio that's built cultural properties for the likes of Coca-Cola, Mattel, Netflix, Paramount, Universal and Warner Bros.

One side brings the reality of guest experience and hospitality economics. The other brings the creative firepower that elevates hospitality brands from functional to iconic.

OUR PRINCIPALS HAVE BUILT FOR

Coca-Cola · Mattel · Netflix · Paramount · Universal · Warner Bros

Commercial Director

Dan Conchie

A commercial interior designer and former nightclub owner, Dan has spent his career on the operating side of hospitality — where design decisions meet covers, payroll and rate. As founder of Canvas Interiors he has designed commercial spaces across the UK, always to the same brief: spaces that perform, not just photograph.

He brings the economics of guest experience to Mr Wolf — what fills rooms, what drives spend, and what survives a Saturday night.

Creative Director

Barry Darnell

Barry is the founder of Madebyanalogue, a brand studio that has spent twenty years building cultural properties for the likes of Coca-Cola, Mattel, Netflix, Paramount, Universal and Warner Bros — work built on fandom, entertainment and brands people choose to belong to.

He brings the creative firepower to Mr Wolf — the thinking that elevates a property from functional to iconic, and makes guests loyal before they've checked in.

THE PROGRAMS

Five engagements.
One standard.

We work at the moments when incremental improvement stops working — acquisition, repositioning, launch, expansion, decline. Each program solves one strategic problem. Every one is senior-led from the first conversation to the last decision.

01 The Reposition

For properties that look like their comp set and price like it too.

Amenities are table stakes. Every five-star has the spa, the rooftop, the chef’s name on the door. We identify the territory only you can own, then align brand, design and experience around it — until the comparison stops making sense.

  • A position competitors can't follow
  • Rate power that survives the comp set
  • One brief every future decision answers to
02 The Refresh

The property has moved on. The brand hasn't.

The offer is right; the identity is trading against it. We keep the equity that built your reputation and retire everything that no longer earns its place — identity, photography, language — until what guests see matches what they get.

  • An identity that matches the current experience
  • Photography that sells the real property
  • Guidelines that hold the standard at every touchpoint
03 The Creation

Be inevitable before you're available.

For new properties and new concepts starting from zero. Most hotels brand last — a name and a logo wrapped around a finished build. We brand first. The brand defines the guest, the design, the experience and the rate, and everything else follows from it. Done properly, the property opens with demand already waiting.

  • Strategy, positioning and narrative before a single design decision
  • A name, identity and visual world built from that strategy
  • Pre-opening demand the marketing budget didn't buy
04 The Entrance

Arrive as the answer, not the question.

A new city has its own loyalties, its own rules, its own noise. The risk is opening as just another venue. We define how you enter — tuned to the market without diluting what you are — so launch night feels less like an introduction and more like a confirmation.

  • Positioning built for local dynamics
  • A launch narrative that creates demand before the doors open
  • Local relevance without brand dilution
05 The Turnaround

The property guests stopped choosing.

Occupancy is soft. Reputation is fading. The guests who used to book you don’t anymore. Sometimes the fix is operational. More often the damage is perceptual — and perception is a brand problem. We find where the disconnect lives and rebuild desirability from the brand up.

This is the work we're named for.

  • An honest read of perception versus reality
  • Repositioning that signals the property has changed
  • Recovered relevance, trust and share

HOW WE WORK

Clarity before capital

Audit

Current brand state, competitive position, market perception. Non-negotiable. We don't build on a flawed foundation.

Strategy

The territory you own, the guest you serve, the story that makes you the obvious choice.

Identity

Strategy translated into visual and verbal systems that hold at every touchpoint.

Design

Spatial planning, materials, lighting, furniture, art direction — one coherent system, not isolated decisions.

Implementation

The full toolkit: guidelines, templates, training. The brand used correctly, by everyone, from day one.

Programs run 12–16 weeks, depending on scope.
